Leeds United are on the verge of tabling a bid for Hull City attacker Jarrod Bowen, according to BBC Humberside Sport.

The broadcaster claimed via their official Twitter account on Thursday that Leeds are set to make a multi-million pound offer “shortly” after adding the 22-year-old to their wishlist for the January transfer window.

Bowen has been a regular for Hull in the Championship this season and he is currently preparing to play against the Whites in a Yorkshire derby clash at Elland Road on Saturday.

The Hull Daily Mail reported in June that the Tigers want £20million for Bowen after he was linked with a move to the Premier League.

Good move for Leeds?

Bowen has been in great form for Hull this season, having scored eight goals and supplied three assists in 23 Championship appearances.

It is no surprise that Leeds want to sign him because he is someone with great potential and the ability to be able to play in the Premier League one day.

The Whites could do with reinforcing their attack in the summer transfer window, so doing that by luring Bowen to Elland Road would be top business.

Likely to happen?

Will Leeds be able to spend £20million on Bowen? It’s very, very unlikely.

Marcelo Bielsa has proved that he does not need much to be able to table a serious bid for promotion this season, having put most of his squad together in the summer with loan signings.

He will need a goalkeeper and maybe another centre-back before going big on a winger like Bowen, so don’t expect this to happen just yet.
