Former Leeds United defender and Sky Sports pundit Stephen Warnock has been raving over the attitude shown by his old side and insisted manager Marcelo Bielsa will be loving what he is seeing from the dugout.

The Whites left it late to pick up another three points in their push for the Championship title on Boxing Day, Kemar Roofe netting a brace in added time to secure a 3-2 win over Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road, the visitors having taken the lead in the 90th minute.

Speaking about the manner in which Leeds have come back to secure a positive result, having done the same against Aston Villa before Christmas, Warnock was delighted with what he saw and said Bielsa would be too.

He told Sky Sports News’ Football Centre (27/12, 11:23): “It’s a never say die attitude. At home, Leeds are very strong.

“They’ve got that momentum going, the crowd draw them on. They’re a very fit team, there’s no getting away from that, what they do is keep piling that pressure on.

“Bielsa will be absolutely delighted to see those stats (points won from losing positions). It gives you even more belief that you can go on until the bitter end.”

Opinion

Leeds have picked up a very important six points from the last two games courtesy of last ditch winners but will Bielsa really be happy to see his side relying on last minute goals? Surely he would rather see the game out of sight during the 90 minutes rather than hoping, praying almost, to see his side snatch the win at the death. While it does show great resilience and attitude, you can be sure that the Elland Road faithful would rather be left sitting comfortably heading into added time rather than being on the edge of their seats. Either way it is turning out to be a seriously exciting season for the Whites and they will be hoping that they can keep up the good run of performances, whether that means winning with a goal in the first minute or the 91st, and the players are no doubt keeping both their manager and the fans happy.
