COMMENTARY

Many Aston Villa fans were blown away by the stunning team goal that their U-18s side scored during the 4-2 win over Swansea City in the FA Youth Cup on Tuesday. The goal was so good that the club’s official Twitter account decided to upload a clip of it so more fans could bask in its glory. Several supporters opted not just to focus on Jacob Ramsey’s sublime finish for the goal but drooled over the cheeky back heel and the several beautiful passes that led to it as it was the definition of a well-worked team goal. As one Villans supporter tweeted, the goal should definitely be included in the discussions when it comes to Aston Villa’s goal of the season regardless of the fact that it’s by the U-18s not the senior side, as it’s hard to fault it. While one moment doesn’t defy a team, this latest clip will certainly have Aston Villas salivating about the potential stars hiding in the club’s academy.  Also as one points out, the team seem to be playing the style of football that current first-team manager Dean Smith loves so that is a positive to take from this moment as well.
