OPINION

Leeds midfielder Adam Forshaw gave a very simple summation of his side’s promotion chances after they lost 2-0 to Hull on Saturday.

He said it’s no fluke that they’re top of the table and that another run of seven wins in a row will get them close to the Premier League.

Simple. Leeds can get 2019 off to a flyer though if Marcelo Bielsa rings the changes from the team that flopped at Elland Road in their last game of 2018.

Jack Clarke must start. There’s only so many times Bielsa can play Jack Harrison and hook him at half-time for the exciting youngster.

We think Clarke’s got a good shot at starting his first game for Leeds and he can come in for 26-year-old Ezgjan Alioski.

Jamie Shackleton should come in at right-back, with 27-year-old Luke Ayling not looking 100% fit against Hull. Aapo Halme can come into the centre, freeing up Kalvin Phillips to move to midfield and Adam Forshaw for his more advanced role. Harrison deserves a spell on the bench.

This is the side that we think will make a fantastic start towards the next seven-in-a-row:
