No wonder there are some Celtic fans furious with the fact that Vakoun Issouf Bayo has been lined up by the club for a January move. According to the Daily Star, the Hoops have tabled a £1.75million bid for the Ivory Coast international, who has scored 18 goals and supplied seven assists in 23 appearances this season. It sounds like he has a good record in front of goal, which it is, but most of those goals have been scored for DAC Dunajska Streda in the Slovakian Fortuna Liga. The Scottish Premiership isn’t the best league in the world by a longshot, but it is without doubt a lot stronger than Slovakia’s top-flight. Bayo, 21, has been scoring goals for fun in that league, but so would most of the players in the Scottish Championship. He could be a good signing because he’s still young and could develop into yet another good find by the Hoops, but after selling Moussa Dembele for up to £20million in the summer, surely Brendan Rodgers has a lot more money to spend on a striker than just £1.75million?
