It really doesn’t get worse than that. Tom Rogic had an absolute stinker in Celtic’s 2-1 defeat to Red Bull Salzburg at Parkhead on Thursday night. The Australia international was just not in the game at all and a large section of supporters on Twitter, justifiably, tore him to shreds for his inept performance. It was probably a mistake to start Rogic in a game that the Hoops had to avoid defeat. Yes, the Bhoys were in good form going into the game so it did not make much sense to change things, but Scott Brown simply had to start that game. The Celtic captain rises to the occasion in games like this and he would have made it a lot harder for Salzburg to get forward in the first-half. Celtic were lucky that the Austrians weren’t out of sight by the time Brown came on at half-time but the way that they got forward so easily gave them belief after the break. It is easy to say that now the game is over, but the fact remains, Rogic was awful.
