OPINION

You can understand why so many Wolves fans are baffled by Nuno Espirito Santo’s decision to start Romain Saiss against Cardiff – the 28-year-old has hardly kicked a ball this season. During pre-season, Saiss was awful when he was tried out at centre-back but the Moroccan is back in that position against Cardiff on Friday night and this looks like something that could backfire. Where is Leander Dendoncker? Ryan Bennett’s omission is understandable, but surely a Belgium international who is proven in that position is better than Saiss? These Wolves fans clearly are not happy with Nuno’s decision and one has even cried for ‘Nuno out’. Are Wolves on the verge of a sixth game in a row without a win? They can kiss goodbye to European football and started worrying about relegation if that is the case. Nuno does not need to be tasking risks. Cardiff will be well up for this game and they will see it as one they can win. If Wolves lose then Nuno is going to find out how trigger-happy the club’s owners can be.
