West Ham are ready to let Angelo Ogbonna leave the club in the January transfer window and could consider cashing in on him for as little as £4.3million, according to Calcio Mercato.

The Italian news outlet claims that AC Milan and Roma are both in the hunt to sign the 30-year-old defender, who could also be available on a loan deal in January with the possibility of a permanent deal in the future.

It is understood that Ogbonna’s agent Giovanni Branchini may have already started working on finding a new club for the Italy international and his relations with Milan and Roma are said to be “more than excellent”.

Good move for West Ham?

Ogbonna is barely getting a game for West Ham at the moment so it is definitely worth cashing in on him in the January transfer window if there is enough interest, but surely he is worth more than a seven-figure fee of £4.3million.

The 30-year-old is a full international and has a lot of experience in the Premier League and Serie A.

Pellegrini could definitely get more than that for the defensive powerhouse, especially as he still has another three and a half years left on his contract in London.

Likely to happen?

It would not be a shock to see West Ham get rid of Ogbonna in January.

The ex-Torino ace has made just two Premier League starts this season, and both of them came in August before he was dropped by Pellegrini.

Branchini’s relationship with interested clubs will definitely help move things along but the Hammers should really be asking for more cash.
