A section of West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to tear Craig Dawson to shreds for his performance in the 1-0 defeat to Hull City at the KCOM Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Dawson, 28, reportedly handed in a transfer request to force a move away from The Hawthorns in the summer transfer window, and has probably put off any potential suitors in the future with yet another shoddy display in Albion’s defence this weekend.
Some Baggies fans did not hold back when blasting the former Rochdale defender, with one saying that he is a “disgrace”.
COMMENTARY:
West Brom fans have every right to be furious with Dawson because he could have been the club’s most profitable sale over the summer but he has turned into an absolute liability. Is he playing up because he didn’t get a move back to the Premier League, or is he made to look awful by Darren Moore’s useless tactics. Either way, Dawson is not suited to playing in a back-three, in fact none of West Brom’s defenders are. Moore can sort of Dawson’s form by going back to a back-three, pairing him up with Ahmed Hegazi and playing Tyrone Mears at right-back because no one else is natural in that position. Dawson’s form should improve then, but if it doesn’t, then it is clear that he does’t want to be there and Moore should get rid of him in January. Albion are in a real rut and their so-called star defender is not helping out one bit.
