Rangers-mad striker Oli McBurnie has said that he will sign for Rangers one day and he believes that Steven Gerrard’s men can win the league this season.

In an Instagram Q&A, McBurnie made the revelation that he definitely sees himself playing at Ibrox in his career.

When asked when he would play for Rangers, he replied “One day” with an emoji of a Union Jack.

Asked where he thought Rangers would finish this season, he responded with a Now That’s What I Call Music 55 cover – if Rangers won the title it would be their 55th win.

Finally, asked whether he preferred Celtic or Cardiff he replied “Neither”, with a sick emoji and said he’d rather retire than play for the Hoops.

OPINION

Rangers fans will love this and they’ll love the idea that 22-year-old McBurnie wants to play for them one day. He said his favourite Rangers player is currently Alfredo Morelos and fans will appreciate both the dig at Celtic and the faith that Gerrard can win their 55th title this season. He’s currently in a good run of form – he’s scored six goals already in the Championship this season but has never hid the fact that he’s Rangers mad. It’s a move that we can definitely see happening but we’re not sure when. McBurnie is contracted at Swansea until 2021, but we could see him deciding to take a wage cut to join Rangers and make the move happen. McBurnie has broken through into the Scotland team this year and while a move to Ibrox might not be on the cards in a hurry, it’s obvious that it would be a dream for him to play for the light blue.
