Peter Lawwell should go all-out to bring young West Ham centre-back Reece Oxford to Celtic in the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old has had a bit of a fall from grace since his loan moves to Borussia Monchengladbach.

He spent two spells out in the Bundesliga, and made eight appearances for the German side in the 17/18 season.

West Ham had really high hopes for him but their recruitment drive over the summer has seen him plunge down the pecking order.

Now, West Ham want him off the books as they try and lower their wage bill to enable them to buy again in January.

On the latest episode of the West Ham Way podcast, a reliable Hammers source claimed that there was renewed interest from Germany in the youngster.

More importantly, ExWHUemployee, said that the club would accept just £5million for the man they wanted £15million for “not long ago”.

That puts him bang in the ballpark for Celtic and with Dedryck Boyata potentially on his way out, Brendan Rodgers needs more depth in the centre of his defence.

Oxford could thrive at a massive club like Celtic and they could turn him back into a £15-£20million player within a season.

If they can get him back on track and develop him properly, he could be the club’s next superstar.
