BBC pundits Don Hutchison and Chris Sutton have heaped praise on Wolves and their forward Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez has scored three goals in 12 Premier League games but already has five assists, and Hutchison thinks that he will end the season with more assists than goals.

“He’s so good at being a nine, Raul Jimenez”, Hutchison said, “probably a bit like playing behind Giroud. What he does, he gets the ball, it sticks, he’s got a good first touch. He’ll get eight or nine goals but he might well get 15 assists this season”.

Chris Sutton said he was impressed with the attitude shown by Wolves.

“The most impressive thing about them is that they go to Arsenal, United, even the City game, they don’t show any fear in the way they play, they have confidence in the way they play, they have an identity… Boy they’re impressive.”

OPINION
Some people might look at Jimenez’s stats and say that he doesn’t score enough goals but that’s only half the story. He’s already got almost double the number of assists to goals and Hutchison thinks that will play out for the rest of the season. Goals are an issue for Wolves though, as good as Jimenez is. 12 goals in 12 Premier League games is the reason why they’re no better than 11th at the moment – no team has scored less goals above them and only six teams have scored less in the whole of the league. They’ve shown they can match the big boys – United, Arsenal and Man City – on the pitch but Nuno needs to crack the issue of goals. Leo Bonatini clearly isn’t the answer and it might have to be that Nuno needs to enter the transfer market in January to try to get his side scoring.
