Rangers are lining up a January swoop for Wolves right-back Dominic Iorfa, according to the Scottish Sun

The newspaper report that Steven Gerrard is ready to reignite interest in the 23-year-old flyer after keeping tabs on the Wolves ace over the summer.

The Sun claim that Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is prepared to listen to offers for Iorfa, whose contract is running out in the summer, with a £500,000 deal potentially on the table for the Gers.

It is said that Wolves would look for a sell-on percentage if Rangers moved him on in the future.

Good move for Rangers?

Yes.

There is a definite need for competition at right-back at Ibrox right now, with captain James Tavernier currently backed up by the versatile Jon Flanagan.

Iorfa is a real talent who could blossom in the right environment, and the fact that Rangers were interested in the summer suggests this is a player they know well.

An agreement struck around the £500,000 mark would be a good piece of business for all involved.

Likely to happen?

It does look like Wolves will have to cash in on Iorfa in January, with there being little point of keeping him around until the summer having made no first-team appearances this season.

That opens the door to Rangers, who would be in with a brilliant chance of signing him if they get in there early.
