A number of West Ham supporters have turned to Twitter to react with utter delight over the exciting sight of missing attacker Manuel Lanzini taking part in training sessions as he looks to recover from his long-term injury layoff.
The Argentinian maestro was ruled out for much of the current campaign after suffering a serious injury while in a training session ahead of the summer’s World Cup in Russia, meaning the Hammers have had to do without his talents up top.
Posting a video to his personal Twitter account, Lanzini showed himself running around on the training pitch in a drill which seems to be focused on testing his mobility and movement, and it piqued the excitement of Irons fans on Twitter.

COMMENTARY
West Ham fans have had to wait so long to see Lanzini back in action and so this really is an exciting sight for the London Stadium faithful. It might not be anything special, with the attacking midfielder simply jogging around the pitch and taking part in some light passing drills but it is a step up from where he would have been a month or two ago. While this does not give us any clear idea as to when he will be back available for Manuel Pellegrini, it does offer some hope that he will be back sooner rather than later, although that could still be a couple more months. Fans should not expect him to tear things up when he does eventually return but what he will bring is an experience and quality that few of the other West Ham attackers had coming into this season. It is going to be a tough battle to nudge Felipe Anderson out of the starting XI but good competition will only push the Hammers on to better things, and it seems to be only a matter of time until the Brazilian maestro has an Argentine rival for company.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:
? Hopefully won't be too long until you're back, we miss you badly in the 1st team. Good Luck ?
