Besiktas want to take West Ham striker Javier Hernandez on loan in the January window, and are willing to pay a £900k loan fee for the Mexican hitman, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.

The report claims that Besiktas President Fikret Orman will meet with West Ham officials directly and negotiate an option to buy on top of the loan deal.

They say that he is keen to shake hands on the deal before the January transfer window opens.

Good move for West Ham?
This seems like the perfect deal, presuming that the right price can be negotiated. Despite Hernandez not clicking at West Ham, he’s still an elite striker who has got plenty of time left in his career. West Ham paid £16million for him in 2017 and will be wanting to recoup most of that. He’s under contract until 2020 so there’s no real urgency to sell aside from getting his wages off the books. On £140k-a-week, Hernandez is reportedly the highest paid player on the West Ham books and that would free up much needed cash for new recruits, possibly at right-back where Ryan Fredericks has been injured.

Likely to happen?
If Besiktas are willing to pay the money then this is one we can see happening. Hernandez at West Ham just hasn’t worked out and ExWHUemployee, a reliable source of West Ham news, has said that the club will be looking to move him on in January. Shaking hands on a deal in December, that would get his wages off the books and guarantee a sale in the summer seems like the perfect solution for everyone. Of course, it depends on whether Hernandez wants to move to Turkey.
