Former Tottenham  goalkeeper Paul Robinson has said that enough is enough for the club hosting games at Wembley Stadium.

Delays to the club’s new ground have meant Mauricio Pochettino’s side have had to remain at Wembley for far longer than anticipated, and Robinson feels that it needs to end now.

“I think enough’s enough now,” he told beIN SPORTS. “I think it’s been long enough and the highlight for that point was the game against Manchester City there when they had to play after the NFL.

“They have to go now, they have to find a new home. How long’s it going to go until the FA or the Premier League steps in and go ‘hang on a minute, this isn’t fair, you can’t play half your games here and half your games somewhere else’.'”

OPINION

Robinson is bang on the money, here. This stadium issue is becoming a bit of a joke now for Tottenham and the supporters’ frustration is reflected in the attendances at Wembley. By all accounts the turnout was surprisingly low against Chelsea on Saturday. Chelsea at home should be a huge game for Spurs against a massive London rival, but the fans are simply fed up by the whole Wembley experience. It isn’t their ground and it’s not what they paid for when they bought their season tickets. Yes, they knew some games would be played at Wembley but they would have been hoping to be in the club’s new stadium by now. The issue is getting embarrassing and Spurs need to sort out it as soon as possible. Robinson makes a good point about the FA or the Premier League stepping in because surely this cannot be allowed to continue indefinitely. Let’s see what happens with the new stadium but for now it’s safe to say that tensions are running a little high at Tottenham.
