The agent of Georges-Kevin NKoudou has revealed the player and Tottenham are both keen for him to quit the club in January.

Speaking to France Football, Meïssa Ndiaye explained that the French winger did not leave in the summer window because of the stance of Tottenham owner Joe Lewis and chairman Daniel Levy.

“The president and the owner of Tottenham are not the easiest to seduce in the transfer window,” Ndiaye told France Football. “The fact that he did not leave is only the responsibility of the club. Things could not succeed for economic reasons, but it was not a drama either.”

Nkoudou has had just 27 minutes of senior action for Tottenham this season and the plan of both the player and the north Londoners is a winter window exit.

“The idea is to leave in January. Both sides want to move forward and turn the page,” Ndiaye told France Football. ”

Good move for Tottenham?

Getting off the wage bill a £9.7million signing who is nowhere near the starting XI can only be a good thing, even though the club’s hopes of making a profit, or even ensuring they don’t make a loss, is likely to fail. NKoudou has been a bit-part player since signing from Marseille in the summer of 2016 and it is a transfer that looks more questionable as every day goes past. Mauricio Pochettino clearly doesn’t rate the former France Under-21 international and would rather give chances to youth-team players than put his trust in a player who also failed to make a mark while on loan at Burnley in the second half of last season.

Likely to happen?

It would be an absolute certainty at most clubs, given NKoudou’s lack of game time spread out over three seasons and the fact he is nowhere near the starting XI. But Levy will only sell or agree a deal if he is convinced it is right for the club and represents the market value of the player. As Ndiaye points out, it is never easy when the Spurs chairman is involved.
