Tottenham Hotspur put in a much-improved performance to overcome West Ham 3-1 and progress to the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup on Wednesday evening, and many fans have taken to Twitter to rave about the display of goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga.
Son Heung-min scored his first goals of the season with a brace before Fernando Llorente sealed the win with a tidy finish, with Lucas Perez having pulled one back for the Hammers at the London Stadium.
Tottenham fans have been reacting to the win on Twitter, with many drooling over Gazzaniga’s return to the side between the sticks as the Argentine impressed once again.

COMMENTARY
Gazzaniga once again impressed after being drafted into the Tottenham starting XI on Wednesday, and these fans are obviously pleased with his display. The 26-year-old stopper has slowly made his way up the pecking order at Spurs, now being Mauricio Pochettino’s second-choice between the sticks after overtaking Michel Vorm. His performance against the Hammers was merely a continuation of his good form all season, with the Argentine impressing on every occasion he has been called upon this season. There are even those fans below who believe he should be given a chance as number one in place of Hugo Lloris, with the France international making several high-profile errors this season. While those calls may be slightly premature, the fact is that Gazzaniga is impressing while Lloris is becoming a liability, and if that continues, then Pochettino’s hand may be forced. Stranger things have happened in football, and Gazzaniga therefore needs to keep working hard and hope that chance comes.

Also, is it me or is the difference between Lloris and Gazzaniga getting smaller every week?
One or two more mistakes from Hugo and we’ve got a ready-made replacement. #THFC #COYS #Spurs #Tottenham

Foyth MOTM for me. Closely followed by Gazzaniga. Son's two goals obviously made the difference, but what a performance from those two lads who usually barely get a minute on the pitch ?

Just watched highlights and must say Gazzaniga and Foyth were unreal! Foyth especially. These two could be future Lloris and Vertonghen replacements. Promising!
