OPINION
Newcastle secured yet another invaluable three points tonight, away at Burnley, and fans loved the full-throttle display from Mohamed Diame.
But, despite having plenty of chances to kill the game off, it ended up being a very nervy end to the game.
Newcastle fans couldn’t believe their eyes when their side went 2-0 up on Monday Night Football.
The first goal went down as an own goal from Ben Mee after a deflected shot from Federico Fernández but Ciaran Clark got the second with a good header.
And incredibly it was the first time Newcastle had scored on MNF since Sept 2013.
And there was another Sky stat that got the Newcastle fans excited – Diame has made the most tackles in 2018.

He had a fantastic game and plenty of Newcastle fans took to Twitter to praise him.
However, things got a bit more nervy for Newcastle fans just before half-time when Martin Dubravka made a mistake in the Newcastle goal, and let the home side back into the game.
At 2-1 Newcastle fans had to endure a very uncomfortable second-half, compounded when Matt Ritchie missed an absolute sitter to make the game safe.
In the end it didn’t matter, although Ritchie will have to endure plenty of ribbing from teammates and TV producers.
Here are the best reactions from fans to Diame’s display tonight:
Mo Diame might just be the best player in the league at the moment ??
