Man City eased to a 2-0 win against Fulham in the Carabao Cup but some fans were concerned after watching German attacker Leroy Sane’s display.
Pep Guardiola put out a heavily changed side for the clash but his team were still too much for Fulham, with Brahim Diaz scoring both goals, the first in the 18th and the second in the 65th minute.
He scored his second after Gabriel Jesus’ shot came back off the post to him. Jesus is on a goal drought that goes back to August in the Premier League and he’s only got two in all competitions this season.
COMMENTARY
Jesus was unlucky last night. He should have scored and that kept the fans off his back, after he has attracted criticism this season for his wastefulness in front of goal. Leroy Sane, however, came under attack from some Man City fans and also some concern from others, with one fan saying he doesn’t think he’ll be at the Etihad next season. It’s true that Sane has had a torrid time of it this season under Pep Guardiola. In fact, his problems go right back to the World Cup, when he wasn’t selected to play in Russia over the summer after a brilliant 17/18 season for Man City. This season, the talented 22-year-old has only made four Premier League starts and has only scored two goals in 11 games. He created a lot of chances last night and had a fairly decent game, but one fan noticed that he walked straight off on his own after the final whistle. Another said he had a “horrible” performance, which seems harsh.

Horrible performances from Sané and Jesus, wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t here next season.
Danilo impressed me a lot, always enjoy seeing Foden and Diaz!
Hope Kev’s injury isn’t too bad!
Come on City! #mcfc #mancity #mciful

I’m just concerned with Sané, might still be getting over not going to the World Cup but he was class last season and he’s nowhere near that this season, it’s his chance to prove the manager wrong! He walked off on his own when the whistle went!

Sané’s attitude was poor and the fact he just walked off when the whistle went without shaking anyone’s hand doesn’t help! Don’t see what Jesus does apart from run about!

Lol….yet Sane had a relatively poor game. He has played much better before. Goes to show stats are not everything
