OPINION
Phil Foden carried on showing why Man City are on the verge of signing him up to a lucrative six-year contract, when he starred for the England Under-21 side on Tuesday. An impressive showing from the Young Lions saw them smash Denmark 5-1, and Foden supplied the assist for the first goal, finished by Demarai Gray. Watching him this evening it’s hard to believe he’s only 18 but it’s very clear why he’s already breaking through into the senior Man City team, said to be the best in a generation. And it’s not just Man City fans who were blown away by him – one Arsenal fan said he was “unreal”, while a Tottenham fan said “He looks handy I must say.” One Leicester fan said he was “absolutely ridiculous” (in a good way!) and there were plenty of Man City fans who were smug in the knowledge that he will be a City player soon until 2024. The future for England is also looking bright with Foden shaping up to be one of the best midfield players on the world stage… Too much, too soon? We don’t think so.
Here are the best reactions from the fans on Tuesday evening:
Watching the exciting young lions on @btsport and the production line is very healthy despite Rashford, Sancho, Sterling, Gomez, TAA being eligible but in senior set-up.
Foden looks immense! Cook, Gray and Nelson very good.#england #Under21— Chad84?? (@ChadKTF28) November 20, 2018

Midfield is the biggest help England need. Obviously, Phil Foden can help with that. He is capable of distributing to what will be an embarrassment of riches in the attack for England

Foden is going to be unreal once he breaks into that City team
