Liverpool are firmly in the running to sign Borussia Dortmund sensation Christian Pulisic next year, according to the Daily Telegraph.
The newspaper claim the Merseyside giants are lining up a swoop for the Bundesliga 20-year-old after Dortmund gave the green light for a transfer next summer if they receive a “big enough bid”.
The Telegraph report Chelsea are also keen to land winger Pulisic but former Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp is a huge admirer of Pulisic.
Good move for Liverpool?
Definitely. Pulisic wouldn’t necessarily walk into the Liverpool starting XI tomorrow but he is a huge talent with the potential to be a world beater. He has been in and out of the Dortmund side this season as they closely monitor his game time. But his numbers are impressive – 15 goals and 24 assists from 109 first-team appearances while barely out of his teens – and so is his skill-set. Quick, skilful, technically understanding, courageous and with a great understanding of the game, there is no doubt Liverpool would be landing a serious talent if they can beat off Chelsea and company to land the 22-times international.

Likely to happen?
Jurgen Klopp has said he is only likely to sign players in January if something “crazy” happens, presumably meaning an injury to a major player forces him into action. That said, there was no sense this time last year that Liverpool were going to reignite their pursuit of Virgil van Dijk and spend £7omillion-plus on him. Strange things happen in elite football, but it would still rank as a shock if Liverpool sign Pulisic.
