A section of football fans have taken to Twitter to rave about Xherdan Shaqiri’s performance for Switzerland in their 5-2 Nations League triumph against Belgium on Sunday night.
The Liverpool attacker did not get on the scoresheet as the Swiss secured a stunning upset after Thorgan Hazard had scored twice for Roberto Martinez’s World Cup semi-finalists in the opening 17 minutes.
Many supporters were blown away by the contribution of Shaqiri, with comments including “going to be world class” and “unreal”.

COMMENTARY:
It’s not just Liverpool supporters getting excited about Shaqiri. International and other fans are, too. The Swiss playmaker pulled the strings for his country as they completed an astonishing comeback to defeat the time who finished third in the summer’s World Cup. He supplied assists for two of their goals – one a wonderfully neat headed pass and the other a whipped cross after a corner was cleared – but his most eyecatching contribution was a magnificent reverse pass in the build-up to Switzerland’s fifth goal. Shaqiri’s confidence will be sky-high after this match and many Liverpool fans are eager for him to get a run of matches in their starting XI. The attacking midfielder started the 2-0 win over Fulham before the international break on the right flank and scored his first Premier League goal for the club, but Jurgen Klopp has used the player only sparingly since his summer move from Stoke City that is starting to look like one of the bargains of 2018.
Shaqiri an absolutely baller tonight for the Swiss! #liverpoolfc #buyoftheseason

Why is this funny???? Shaqiri did well trust me! I later watched part of the match and he was brilliant all round. Buy Xhaka was instrumental as well and that doesn’t mean he isn’t one of there best player.
