A section of Liverpool fans were left drooling over Xherdan Shaqiri after his sublime goal helped the Reds to a 2-0 win against Fulham at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
Shaqiri, 27, volleyed in his second goal for Liverpool after he managed to get on the end of an inch-perfect ball from Andrew Robertson to the back-post.
Some Reds fans took to Twitter to rave about the former Stoke star, with one saying that his goal was “world class”.
COMMENTARY:
What a signing Shaqiri was in the summer. There were questions raised about how he would fit into this side but Jurgen Klopp looks as though he has found a perfect replacement for Philippe Coutinho with the Switzerland international roaming free behind the front-three. Liverpool fans understandably loved his display against Fulham on Sunday. His goal in front of the Kop was truly outstanding and with the fact that the Reds signed him so cheap from relegated Stoke in the summer, he is looking like one of the best bargain buys made at Anfield in a very, very long time. It would be nice to see him playing more regularly in Klopp’s starting line-up now. Shaqiri had started just two Premier League fixtures before scoring against Fulham, so Klopp will certainly have to think about that over the international break with Watford and Paris Saint-Germain being his side’s next two fixtures.
