QPR are reportedly considering Sean Goss’ future at Loftus Road after the midfielder failed to make a single league appearance for the English Championship club since returning from his loan spell at Rangers last season.

West London Sport has reported that Goss, 23, is likely to be loaned out yet again by the Rs in January and then it is understood that his future will be assessed in the summer of 2019 as he enters the final year of his contract.

Rangers fans will not be surprised to see this damning report about their 2018 flop, who made 15 appearances across all competitions for the Light Blues in the second half of last season when he was signed on loan in the winter transfer window.

The left-footed midfielder did start his life at Ibrox quite well and managed to impress with his ability at set-pieces, but after an initial honeymoon period, his performances soon dropped and Graeme Murty eventually dropped him to the bench.

It was director of football Mark Allen who was behind the bulk of Rangers’ business in January as they transformed a mess of a team left behind by Pedro Caixinha.

Goss was one of several players signed on loan, and like all the other temporary additions at Ibrox, he flopped badly.

Allen’s major blunder in January eventually set Murty up for the sack – only for him to be re-hired for the Under-20s – and Steven Gerrard’s arrival at the end of last season perhaps helped the transfer chief with his business because there was a big-name manager to lure players in.

Without Gerrard there would be no Ovie Ejaria and no Ryan Kent, who have both been key performers this season.

Allen needs to buck his ideas up going in January, Rangers cannot endure another mess of a window like they did in 2018.
