Everton are in the hunt to sign Benfica attacker Andrija Zivkovic, according to Daily Mail reporter Dominic King.

The reliable journalist claimed via his personal Twitter account on Saturday morning that Marco Silva is keeping close tabs on the 22-year-old Serbia international, who would cost over £20million if the Toffees were to try and sign him.

Zivkovic has only made 10 appearances in all competition for Benfica this season and has only featured once in the Champions League group stages despite playing a bigger role in the qualifying rounds.

Good move for Everton?

If Zivkovic is struggling to get a game for Benfica, then he is bound to struggle with Everton and for over £20million, Silva could be barking up the wrong tree here.

The Serbia international was tipped for a bright future when he was younger but since signing for Benfica in 2016, he has only scored four goals in 64 appearances across all competitions.

He is an attacking midfielder who can play out wide, but Everton already have a good amount of those kinds of players and Silva is better off spending more money in January on a new right-back and a top-quality centre-forward.

Likely to happen?

Silva may have his eyes on Zivkovic but it is understood that other Premier League clubs are also watching the 22-year-old, mainly because of how little he has played for Benfica this season.

Everton shouldn’t spend that much money on the Serbian attacker, but given the way they have spent money in the last couple of years, it’s likely that they will go in for him in January.
