OPINION
Being a goalkeeper is a tough gig. You can make save after save, but make a mistake and you’re in big trouble with the fans.
Consistency is key when you’re wearing the gloves and West Brom fans are starting to grumble about their summer signing Sam Johnstone.
He signed from Man United in the summer for £6.6million after spending a successful season-and-a-half at Aston Villa.
He helped them get to the play-off finals last season so he’s got form at the business end of the Championship, but he didn’t get off to a great start on Wednesday night.
He fumbled a shot from Matt Grimes and Swansea poacher Oli McBurnie was at hand to put the ball away at the second attempt.
West Brom have character though and, despite Swansea being the best team in the first-half, they equalised almost immediately through Craig Dawson before his defensive partner Ahmed Hegazy put them in front just before half-time.
Johnstone managed to avoid conceding any more goals and the win takes the Baggies up to fourth in the table.
The 25-year-old keeper didn’t get any plaudits from fans though and he’s going to have to show more consistency if he wants to win the fans over.
Here are the best reactions from West Brom fans to Johnston’s display tonight:
Pathetic from Johnstone. Dear God.

Composing a tweet about how shit Sam Johnstone is and we’ve scored. No replays so I missed the bastard, any good?
