COMMENTARY
Sponsorship and commercial deals can often go unnoticed by supporters but Leeds United certainly appear to have capture the attention of the Elland Road faithful with their latest deal in the boardroom.
With a promotion battle on the cards, the feeling is already feeling pretty positive in Yorkshire but it seems as though the Whites supporters still have more to give.
The club confirmed on their official Twitter account and website that they had signed a partnership deal with Sports Interactive, Sega and the popular video game Football Manager, with no doubt that many Leeds fans will have played the game over the years, standing – or should that be sitting on a bucket – virtually in the footsteps that Marcelo Bielsa does on a Saturday afternoon.

While by no means a revolutionary deal, or one that will bring in huge amounts of investment to Elland Road, it has not stopped the supporters from expressing their delight on social media – a sign of the times that a video game deal is so widely celebrated.
This is another way that the club will be able to connect with the fans and it will be fascinating to see just what impact it has not only on a match day but throughout the season – with the faithful on Twitter already excited.
This is FutbolĀ has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

However, as well as the tweets celebrating the deal, there were a couple of fans who used the deal as an opportunity to jest about the club’s current woes between the sticks, indicating that they should use the deal to help scout a new goalkeeper following Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s injury blow.
