OPINION
It was a must-win game for Tottenham at Wembley on Wednesday night and while Pochettino’s men went in at half-time on level terms, they probably should have been down to 10 men and up against it.
Erik Lamela was the culprit and many Spurs fans flocked onto Twitter to berate their attacker.
Thankfully, other Tottenham players were at the races and kept their aggression channeled in the right direction.
Harry Kane and Moussa Sissoko were the standouts, along with Harry Winks who rattled the bar in the first-half and was unlucky not to score.
Mnay Spurs fans wanted Lamela off and Christian Eriksen on, but instead Pochettino took off Lucas in the second-half and brought on Heung-Min Son.
That didn’t make the home supporters happy. Eventually Spurs fans got their way with Lamela off and Eriksen on in the 70th minute.
And guess what? Eriksen scored the all-important goal that keeps Tottenham’s hopes alive.
Here are the best reactions to Lamela’s poor performance at Wembley:

Lamela off, Eriksen on. Lucky to even have the option to sub him off. Need the eye of a needle Eriksen passes this second half to create the clear cut chances. COYS

Scrappy half. Lamela lucky not to be sent marching, and hasn’t really been at it so far. Suspect he will make way for Eriksen or Son…

Jan looks knackered. Lamela is all over the place, but in the wrong way. Sissoko and Aurier were brilliant. We’re unlucky not to be ahead right now.#COYS
