Andy Gray has said that the exertions of the game against Inter Milan in the Champions League will not have harmed Tottenham’s chances in the north London derby on Sunday.

Arsenal play in the Europa League tonight but have already qualified and have the luxury of playing a second-string team against Vorskla Poltava.

There was no chance of that for Mauricio Pochettino last night and it was a tough game that they won 1-0 thanks to a late goal from Christian Eriksen.

No problem, though, said Andy Gray on beINSPORTS, but he has said that four attacking players are crucial to Tottenham’s success.

“They’re going to fly into the weekend, and bring it on, we want to play. That’s what it’s like, you get on a roll.

“Tottenham have done brilliantly, best start to the season, but I haven’t seen them play yet, not the way Tottenham usually do.

“I saw it against Chelsea for the first time this weekend, and it’s no surprise that Son, Dele Alli, Kane and Eriksen all started the game for the first time this season.”

OPINION

If you want to win the Premier League you need to be able to win dirty and that’s what Tottenham have been doing this season. So many games have been decided by the odd goal, but they’re still in touch at the top and they’ve won 10 of their 13 games. Unfortunately for them, the two teams above them seem to be operating on a different level at the moment but every team will have their dip at some point this season. What Gray is saying here is fascinating, and the four attacking players he’s highlighted are integral to Tottenham. Eriksen didn’t start against Inter Milan but came on and scored the crucial goal. Pochettino must surely start all four of them against Arsenal and go for the win that will really cement their credentials as title contenders. Arsenal might be a rung below but they’ve lost one fewer game than Tottenham this season, and have been hurt by draws. It won’t be easy but Tottenham have what it takes to win.
