A section of Aston Villa fans have taken to Twitter to slate the performance of  Jack Grealish following the 2-1 loss to Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

This was Villa’s first game since Steve Bruce was sacked as manager earlier this week, and they fell to a 2-1 defeat thanks to goals from Tom Elliott and Shane Ferguson after Tammy Abraham initially put the Villians 1-0 up.

Some fans have taken issue with the display of one of their mainstays, with comments including “completely disinterested”, “done nothing all season” and “abysmal.”

This is Futbol has rounded up a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

OPINION

It is easy to agree with what the Aston Villa fans have had to say about Grealish here. He was poor against Millwall at the Den, so their reactions come as no surprise. Some would have thought there was hope for Villa when Abraham initially put them ahead, but the lack of manager really showed after that. The defence was very poor indeed, and as for Grealish, he looked like he did not want to be on the pitch – like one fan pointed out, he looked “disinterested.” Many of the fans here have called for Grealish to be dropped, and that should definitely be the case once the new boss comes in. He looks like he does not want to be playing for Villa any more, and they certainly do not need players like at the moment. All in all, the supporters are not pleased in the slightest, particularly as he has done “nothing” all season.
