A section of Tottenham fans have been reacting on Twitter after it was reported that they are eyeing up Ajax goalkeeper Andre Onana.
According to Dutch news outlet Voetbal International on Monday afternoon, Spurs and Marseille are both interested in signing the 22-year-old Cameroon international, who has been in impressive form in the Eredivise and Champions League for Ajax.
Some Tottenham fans believe that Onana could be a good signing for them with one saying that he would be an “ideal” addition.
COMMENTARY:
Onana would be a good signing for Spurs because he is in top form for Tottenham and a young, up-and-coming goalkeeper who fits the system in North London. These Tottenham fans look as though they would be quite happy to sign the Cameroon international, however there are a couple who think that Paulo Gazzaniga would be a good replacement for Hugo Lloris if Mauricio Pochettino wants to replace the error-prone World Cup winner. Lloris has made a lot of mistakes already this season and Gazzaniga proved that even though he is third-choice goalkeeper at Tottenham, he is in better form than both Lloris and Michel Vorm. As for Vorm, he is out of contract next summer so maybe Onana is a replacement for him. Pochettino does like to have three goalkeepers to choose from and Onana would learn a lot as Lloris’ understudy before eventually becoming the North London club’s number one.
