A number of Rangers supporters have taken to Twitter to react with delight to the news that manager Steven Gerrard has decided to name a strong starting XI for the club’s home clash against Spartak Moscow on Thursday night.
The Light Blues confirmed the line up against the Russians via their official Twitter account, confirming that the boss had chosen to make three changes from the side which beat Hamilton 4-1 over the weekend.

Joe Worrall, Jon Flanagan and Ryan Jack come in for Andy Halliday, Nikola Katic and Jordan Rossiter and Gerrard’s decision to name a strong starting side, with all three of those stepping into the team mainstays when fully fit, had the Ibrox faithful raving on Twitter.

It seems as though Gerrard is taking the Europa League a little more seriously than a certain other manager in Glasgow, who chose to bring in a number of fringe figures for their own European clash on Thursday. The likes of Jack and Flanagan are a familiar sight for the fans at Ibrox and their delight makes it evident how important they are to the Light Blues on the pitch. Jack brings a commanding presence to the midfield, Flanagan is a proven performer on the European stage at left back and Worrall is a man mountain at the heart of the defence. The Gers would love to progress further than Celtic in the competition and when Gerrard is throwing the kitchen sink at the opposition when Brendan Rodgers is left fielding second choice players, you would not bet against them doing just that. Spirits are high at Ibrox, and that is thanks to Gerrard wanting to win every game with his best side.
