Former Celtic ace Kris Commons has raved about Hoops star James Forrest after his four-goal demolition of St. Johnstone on Sunday, and warned that the winger will be snapped up by a big English club if he keeps up his form.

Forrest netted four goals in the first-half against the Saints as Celtic ran out 6-0 winners at McDiarmid Park to get their Premiership campaign back on track after a slow start.

Commons has now drooled over Forrest’s display for the Hoops on Sunday and warned that Premier League sides will inevitably come sniffing if his form continues.

In his column for the Daily Mail, Commons said: “He was unplayable and, as a team, Celtic were mind-blowing during that first half. When they play like that, no team in the country can get near them. Prior to Sunday, they had only scored seven goals in seven Premiership games – then they go and score five in 45 minutes. It was spectacular to watch them turn on the style and I started to think of something that Scott Brown said to me back at the start of August.
