A number of Celtic fans have turned to social media to pan the performance of Leigh Griffiths after starting the clash against St Johnstone on Sunday afternoon.
The Hoops were dominant for the opening 45 minutes, James Forrest netting four before the half time whistle while Odsonne Edouard also found himself on the score sheet, while Callum McGregor added another in the second half to put the icing on the cake.
However, Griffiths, who is a favourite at Celtic Park for his efforts, failed to have the desired impact in his 60 minutes before being substitutes and it saw the fans take to Twitter to voice their frustrations, with a couple stating that they had forgotten he was playing.
This is Futbol has gathered a selection of the supporters’ tweets:

What a difference when we move the ball quickly and players show for the ball. Rogic passing has been awesome. Griffith's, is still poor, not a lot of energy, poor passing, doesn't look fit enough. Needs to seriously step it up.

Opinion
The Celtic fans have every right to be a little disappointed with how Griffiths had performed, for it was not a display which lived up to his usual high standards. Admittedly Forrest stole the show with his performance which hardly gave anyone else a sniff in front of goal but everyone at the club would have liked to have seen the Scottish striker given some more service up top so he could find the back of the net himself. Having been hooked on the hour mark by manager Brendan Rodgers, it could have been that Griffiths was tired after the club’s European exploits in midweek, but if that was the case then why was he starting the clash rather than being rested from the beginning? Either way, it was not his best performance in the Hoops and everyone will be wanting to see better from him moving forward – or he could well be facing the axe.
