Brendan Rodgers has confirmed that ten Celtic players are currently suffering with injuries ahead of their clash against Dundee at Dens Park on Wednesday.

One of the players currently out is key man Leigh Griffiths, who has not played for the Hoops since before the international break.

Rodgers has revealed that the centre-forward is facing a number of weeks out of action, which means that Odsonne Edouard is likely to continue leading the line for upcoming fixtures.

“He’s here in the treatment room. We’ve got ten injuries so our medical team are working hard. We’ll just see over the next few weeks where Leigh’s at,” said Rodgers in a press conference, as quoted by Celtic’s official Twitter account on Tuesday.

Isn’t it strange? Celtic’s best run of form all season coincides with one of the worst injury crisis’ the club has faced in recent times. A lot of questions were being asked of Rodgers’ side at the end of September, but they are absolutely killing it in domestic competitions at the moment and look back on course to winning their third treble in a row. Injuries appear to have gotten the best out of some players but it has also meant that Rodgers has had to give some players more chance to shine. Someone like Ryan Christie does not get a lot of football and he probably wouldn’t be playing right now if it wasn’t for these injuries, but the former Inverness attacker has really proved himself to be a top player and one that Rodgers has to play ever week. Edouard’s form has been up and down but the longer Griffiths stays out of action for, you know that he is bound to get into a regular scoring rhythm and prove his £9million transfer fee.
