Rangers loanee Greg Docherty scored Shrewsbury’s second goal in a 6-0 thrashing of Tranmere in the Checkatrade Trophy last night, and fans are delighted.

The 22-year-old midfielder left Ibrox in the summer for a season-long loan at the League One club.

And he seems to have found his feet there with two goals in nine appearances so far this season.

Here are the best reactions from Rangers fans:

OPINION

Docherty is a lifelong Rangers fan and he must have thought his dreams had come true when he signed a four-and-a-half-year deal from Hamilton for around £600k back in January. He’d turned heads there over his 109 appearances, scoring eight goals and adding 13 assists. It hasn’t worked out for him straight away. He made just 14 Rangers appearances and was told over the summer that he would have any part to play under Gerrard this season. The new manager thought his development would be best served away from Ibrox and it seems to be working for him at League One side Shrewsbury. He’s enjoyed a fast start there and Rangers fans are delighted to see him on the scoresheet again last night. One fan said that he should bring this current form back to Rangers and he’ll be a “standout”. Another sent a message to the Shrewsbury fans, saying, “No, you can’t buy him”.
