Newcastle United fell to a damaging 1-0 loss to Brighton at St. James’ Park on Saturday, and many fans have taken to Twitter to destroy Ayoze Perez for his display.
Brighton took the lead through Jose Izquierdo’s deflected effort in the first-half, with Newcastle unable to bounce back from that blow with a below-par display.
Many Newcastle fans have taken to Twitter to slam Perez for his display, with the Spaniard missing several good chance for the Magpies on the day.

Shelvey was fuming. The kid is a joke of a player. How he starts every week is baffling

Why can't Kenedy play behind Muto. Ayoze is next to useless.

Also, Ayoze Perez continues to be an absolute abomination. As does Diame.

OPINION
These Newcastle fans have been pretty scathing about Perez’s display against Brighton, and it is easy to see why. The Spanish attacker was poor once again for the Magpies, wasting several good opportunities to first put them ahead then to draw them level. His lack of finishing ability this season has been glaring, and it is hard to see what he brings to this team at the moment. Admittedly a lack of options is kind of forcing Rafa Benitez to play him, but there is no way that he is up to standard at the moment. Once Salomon Rondon returns from injury he must take his place alongside Yoshinori Muto, with that looking like a combination which could do well for the Magpies. Perez is simply not good enough for the Premier League on this season’s showings, and he is, as one fan points out, just in the way most of the time.
