Ten Manchester United first team stars are ready to quit if Jose Mourinho remains as manager, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim Paul Pogba, Luke Shaw, Anthony Martial, David de Gea, Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young and Phil Jones are waiting to move on should the Portugese remain at the helm,

The Mail report that the key players are unhappy at how they have been treated by Mourinho and will consider their futures, with most of them out of contract either next summer or a year later.

OPINION

United may have come from two goals down to secure a memorable 3-2 win against Newcastle but the crisis has not abated at Old Trafford. Far from it. Speculation is rife that the players are at odds with Mourinho, whose sledgehammer management style has left many of them looking for the exit door. Certainly, contract situations are delicate in a number of cases, with in-form left-back Shaw, star man De Gea and Martial out of contract at the end of the campaign, although United can trigger 12-month extensions in the cases of the latter duo. The likes of Mata, Herrera, Jones and Young are not as valuable assets as those three, or Paul Pogba, the headline name on the exodus list, but they can leave for nothing at the end of the season and cost United a fortune in potential transfer fees. With United seven points off the league lead and facing dressing room mutiny, the board have an extremely tricky situation on their hands.
