A section of Manchester United fans have taken to Twitter to drool over Marcus Rashford for his performance in their team’s 0-0 Champions League draw against Valencia on Tuesday night.
The England international, who had not started for United since their opening Champions League win against Young Boys, played the full 90 minutes of the clash at Old Trafford.
Many fans were impressed by the contribution of the young forward, with comments including “wow”.

COMMENTARY:
It was by no means an earth-shattering display from Rashford, restored to the starting XI after being a substitute for recent league encounters. But if all of the stuttering and woefully out of form United team showed Rashford’s energy, willing and fearlessness, they would have got more from this game. Supporters were extremely critical of Rashford’s teammates for failing to put a fairly mediocre Valencia side to the sword. But the United academy product at least attempted to carry the fight to the visiting side. Not everything he did came off, and his corners were particularly poor, but he looked like he was up for it and was willing to cover every blade for the team. Rashford also came the closest to scoring, when he bent a free-kick on to the top of the bar after Anthony Martial was tripped on the edge of the penalty area. The England ace should definitely be in the starting XI at the weekend.

Rashford is the only player who looks like he wants this. #mufc #ChampionsLeague #MUNVAL

With the exception of Shaw, Rashford, Lingard and David De Gea every United player's future should be in doubt. None of them are good enough. I'd rather see us field our youngsters than play these mercenaries that are downing tools. #mufc

The only man who has put in the effort tonight is Marcus Rashford. He gets it.#MUFC

Rashford, Pogba, Shaw, Baily having good performance but we can't have Fellani and Matic in our team at OT and be defensive!!! @anto_v25 was very poor. #MUFC https://t.co/XCxQRkimT5

Rashford deserves a run as a striker now because Lukaku, quite frankly, is appalling atm. Looks sluggish, clumsy, and couldn't hit an empty net #MUFC #MUNVAL

Rashford and Shaw probably the only United players who can leave that pitch with any pride at all in that performance. #mufc
