Man United lost to Juventus in the Champions League tonight but Gary Lineker was blown away by a save from David de Gea.
The goalkeeper, who has to be one of the best shot-stoppers in the world, pulled out a save from his top drawer to deny former United star Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Juventus star unleashed a wicked shot midway through the second-half that was heading straight into the top-right corner of De Gea’s goal.
The goalkeeper got up acrobatically to tip the ball away and keep United in the game.
Gary Lineker took time out from his hosting duties on BT Sport to applaud the save – and the shot from Ronaldo.
He said that the shot from Ronaldo was stunning but just had one word to describe De Gea: “Wow”.
There are saves and then there are saves. Stunning hit from Ronaldo but David de Gea….wow. pic.twitter.com/rAec6tHCvp

OPINION
Sometimes David de Gea makes the impossible look routine. His athleticism to get up for Ronaldo’s shot today was nothing short of astonishing and the simple assessment from Lineker – “Wow” – sums the save up perfectly. It’s impossible to calculate how many points De Gea has won for his side but he’s without a doubt one of the elite keepers in the world. His save kept his side in the match tonight but it wasn’t enough to help them get anything from the game. A 1-0 scoreline isn’t anything to be ashamed of but it wasn’t a great performance from Jose Mourinho’s men. Juventus were by far the best side and that goes for almost every aspect of the game tonight. Juventus were a class above and it’s back to the drawing board for Mourinho. Fans won’t mind losing to Juventus but they will really want their side to start having a go in games like this.
