Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes are in line to make their Everton debuts in the club’s Premier League clash against Crystal Palace this weekend, according to Sky Sports News.

The broadcaster claim the never-before-seen duo in a competitive match will finally make their bows more than two months after joining Marco Silva’s side from Barcelona.

Mina arrived with a foot injury that he sustained while playing for Colombia at the World Cup, and his recovery was delayed by a knock in training, and Gomes picked up a hamstring injury during Barcelona’s pre-season tour of the United States.

What a boost it will be for Everton to finally be able to call upon Mina and Gomes. The giant centre-back will immediately bring a commanding presence that the back line has sometimes lacked this season, and has the quality to be the first choice defender at the club. Michael Keane, Kurt Zouma and Mason Holgate have been the regular starters in that position, but there is a sense they have been keeping a place warm for Colombia international Mina, who made such an impact at the World Cup. As for central midfielder Gomes, he has the ability to pull the strings in central midfield when he gets adjusted to English football. Comfortable on the ball and able to operate in tight spaces, the Portgual international who cost Barca £30million two years ago can be a huge influence in a team that has plenty of grit in the centre of the pitch, but not too much guile.
