Lille and Marseille have both made approaches to sign young Southampton forward Enzo Robise, according to Goal.

The French news outlet claims that both of the Ligue 1 clubs are interested in signing the 17-year-old, who has a growing reputation across the English Channel, but the Saints have responded by saying that the French ace is not for sale.

It is understood that Southampton have big plans for Robise, who signed a three-year deal with the club in the summer, and see him as a player with first-team potential.

OPINION

Robise is clearly a player that is rated highly in the youth set-up at St Mary’s, so letting him leave to head back to France would definitely be a mistake unless they were will to offer a big sum of money. Given the fact that the 17-year-old forward is yet to make a senior appearance in his career, it is unlikely that either Lille or Marseille would splash the cash for him. Robise signed his first professional contract with Southampton in July so at the moment, it is safe to say that he is going nowhere. Robise will certainly want first team action soon though, especially with the interest in him from abroad, so sending him out on loan could be a good way to keep him happy and also see his development continue at a good pace. Southampton have a great youth system and Robise, even though he is not English, could be the next big thing to impress the fans at St Mary’s.
