22-year-old Connor Shaughnessy has picked up an injury while warming up for Leeds for their Under-23s game against Burnley today.

The game is notable as it sees the return of Kemar Roofe and Gaetano Berardi for Leeds after being out for weeks with injuries.

However, Leeds can add another one to the missing list now, with Shaughnessy unable to take part in today’s game.

He was replaced by Leif Davis and the change was reported by BBC journalist Adam Pope.

OPINION

Leeds fans will be desperate to get no more injury news today, with some key first-teamers playing for the Under-23s today at Elland Road. Shaughnessy will be a miss though – he’s made the bench twice already this season and played in the EFL Cup game against Preston North End. THat was Leeds’ first defeat of the season. We’re not sure what happened but he seems to have been injured in the warm-up and was withdrawn immediately. Roofe and Berardi both make their comebacks today and we’re expecting them to play the first 45 minutes as long as they don’t suffer any adverse reactions to being back. If they get through unscathed then they should be ready to play in the next Championship game against Blackburn on Saturday. However, with Bielsa’s preference to get players back to fitness by involving them in Under-23 action, it appears less likely that Pablo Hernandez will start next week. He isn’t involved today at Elland Road.
