Jack Harrison has said that he would still like to be playing at Leeds in five years’ time, in the Premier League.

The 21-year-old signed from Man City on loan in the summer and is due to return to the Etihad after the season.

However, he seems to have fallen for Leeds and has said he would love to stay and play for them in the top-flight.

Talking in an interview with We All Love Leeds, he was asked where he saw himself in the next five years.

“Hopefully playing for Leeds in the Premier League,” he said, before adding, “honestly, I’m not looking past earning my spot in the next game.”

He confirmed that Man City Per Guardiola had talked “very highly” of Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa, and that had encouraged him to come to Elland Road on loan.

“It’s a massive club with a world-renowned driving force of dedicated fans and obviously with Marcelo, it seemed an opportunity for the taking. I had a few really good options, but Leeds felt right.”

OPINION

Harrison has had a decent start for Leeds but there’s still a way to go before he’s the finished product. He’s been fortunate to get a run in the first-team with Pablo Hernandez out with injury and he’s now started the last seven games, scoring in the 1-1 draw with Millwall. He’s shown Leeds fans that he’s an attack-minded player, happy to run at the opposition. He just needs to work on his final ball. Leeds fans will be delighted that he’s loving life at Leeds and that managers of the calibre of Guardiola see the club as a good place to put their developing players. That could work in Bielsa’s favour again in January if he looks to bring in some new recruits to cement the charge at the Premier League. There’s a long way to go yet, but it would be pretty special to see Bielsa back at the top of the game, and taking Leeds to play at clubs like Man City and Tottenham, with Guardiola and Mauricio Pochettino both former students of the Argentine.
