A section of Nottingham Forest fans have taken to Twitter to express their frustration at midfielder Adlene Guedioura’s display in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
The Reds secured another three points thanks to goals from summer signings Joao Carvalho and Lewis Grabban, with Steven Fletcher providing a consolation for Sheffield Wednesday.
Grabban headed home from a free-kick in the first half, with Carvalho’s effort landing on the hour mark as he curled in a shot into the top corner.
However, some fans have taken issue with the Guedioura’s performance against their Championship opponents, with some comments about the 5ft 8in (Source: Transfermarkt) player, including “a very poor night” and “pedestrian at times,” while some were full of praise, including him among the “first 2 names on teamsheet.”

Excellent performance from #nffc. Better balance in midfield with Osborn and Guedioura. One big improvement is @michaelhefele at the back. Is a charasmatic leader you need in situations like injury time.

OPINION
Despite Nottingham Forest’s win over Sheffield Wednesday last night, some fans have still taken the liberty to criticise one of their players on Twitter. Overall, it was a good team performance from the Reds, so it is surprising to see them lay into one of their players in the way that they have here. Guedioura did not have the worst of games, and contrary to what some of supporters have said here, his passing was pretty accurate for most of the game. He was a strong presence in their midfield and it is rather unfair to label him as “poor” following this match. Nottingham Forest obviously were in need of a win, but obviously that was not enough for this proportion of fans. Based on his display on Wednesday, he has nothing to worry about, and he is sure to make regular appearances for the first team – even if some do take issue with the way that he plays, apart from one that thinks he should be the first name on the team sheet.
