West Ham United winger Nathan Holland is the most recent player to join the first team dressing room at the London Stadium, according to Claret and Hugh.

The insider – who are a reliable source of news on the Irons – report that the 20-year-old is currently sidelined with an ankle problem, but at the moment, himself and midfielder Declan Rice are the only two youngsters who have been able to establish themselves at “dressing room level” with the Hammers.

Manuel Pellegrini has been monitoring the progress of the under-23 squad recently after inviting them to train with the senior players.

OPINION

Rising star Holland is an exciting prospect for the Hammers, so it is disappointing to see him currently sidelined with injury. However, the fact that just him and Declan Rice are the only players to cement a spot at “dressing room” level speaks volumes about their ability. We already know what Rice is capable of after seeing him impress in the last two matches, and now Holland will need to prove himself once he recovers. He is more than able to make it into the first team, and he must make the most of a manager willing to give younger players an opportunity to show what they can do. Promoting this duo to this level shows the faith that Pellegrini is willing to put into the young talent at the club, and he is starting to already reap the rewards of doing so with Rice’s inclusion. West Ham’s youngsters look rather promising at the moment, and there is no doubt that they will take the Premier League by storm sooner rather than later.
