West Ham United are in a bit of a pickle at the moment – there is definitely no denying that after their poor start to the season.

One player who has been amongst that is striker Javier Hernandez, who has not been utilised very much recently due to his inconsistent run of form.

The 30-year-old arrived in 2017 from Bayer Leverkusen, but since he made his debut for the Hammers, the manager in charge has not been able to bring the best out of him.

He was a lethal forward back in his Manchester United days, but they seem to be a distant memory now, and he certainly looks like a shadow of his former self.

Gone is the player who used to strike fear into any defence he came up against, and he seems to have been replaced with a player who has lost his eye for goal.

This is why the £140,000-a-week (Source: Spotrac) attacker must consider his options in January, especially if he wants to salvage what is left of his career.

New boss Manuel Pellegrini has only started the Mexico international once in the last four matches, coming on as a substitute in three of those clashes.

However, as things do not seem to be going his way with the Irons, he must be open to a move in January, where he get another chance to prove he is still the striker he once was.

If he was started on a regular basis, then maybe he would be firing on all cylinders – but that is not the case, and he must consider playing some where else.

He has either been played up front on his own, alongside Marko Arnautovic or out wide, which implies that Pellegrini has not been able to work out what position he works best in.

He must seek a move away in January – otherwise he will live to regret it if he remains at the London Stadium.
