Tottenham are set to make five changes to their starting XI for Tuesday’s Champions League clash against Inter Milan, according to Football London.

The Trinity Mirror site claim manager Mauricio Pochettino will make drastic alterations to the line-up after consecutive Premier League defeats at the hands of Liverpool and Watford.

Football London report Davinson Sanchez, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Victor Wanyama and Erik Lamela are in line to replace Toby Alderweireld, Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose, Eric Dier and Harry Winks from the side that fell to a 2-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday.

Starting XI: Vorm; Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Davies; Wanyama, Dembele; Lamela, Lucas, Eriksen; Kane.

Axing half the team would be a drastic measure from Pochettino, especially as he backed his players to deliver the goods at Wembley at the weekend. But it is also a necessary move to spruce up a side that needs new faces and fresh legs. It appears the Argentine is unwilling to take the headline-grabbing move of omitting Harry Kane, making it clear in recent days he doesn’t think the player needs a rest. Anyone who has watched the England international splutter through his last four matches for club and country might think totally different. Kane looks exhausted and to be on his last legs. Nevertheless, others are set to make way, with Alderweireld and Trippier already left behind in London. Few would quibble at the omissions of Dier, Rose and Winks, as all three struggled to make any sort of impression against Liverpool. Wanyama would provide midfield steel, Lamela some energy and clever touches, while Aurier, Sanchez and Davies are all proven performers.
