Tottenham face playing yet another game at the Stadium MK this season in a fresh twist regarding their ongoing stadium debacle, according to the Times.

The newspaper claim on their website that there has been a fresh twist over the Lilywhites playing their games at Wembley while they wait for their new home ground to be completed after delays, after talks with the FA revealing that Wembley Stadium will be made unavailable for their date of their fourth round League Cup clash due to the pitch needing to recover from a busy schedule.

It is stated that if Spurs were to be drawn at home then they would have to find a temporary solution yet again, having defeated Watford at the Stadium MK on Wednesday night, and that MK Dons’ ground would likely be the venue again.

Opinion

What appeared to be a one off match at Dele Alli’s old stomping ground looks as though it could well be a recurring theme for Spurs in the League Cup this season. It is now a 50/50 chance as to whether Tottenham are forced to ask to use the Stadium MK once more, with some at the club perhaps preferring an away draw rather than having to sort out the logistics of using the temporary home ground once again. The situation surrounding their stadium really has turned into a shambles and the sooner it is sorted out, the better for the club and the fans. Still, the atmosphere for the Watford game was actually pretty good and if Dele Alli is featuring then at least the Spurs players know there will be one or two cheers from the locals. It is not a perfect situation but it was taken in good spirits – although the prospect of playing yet another game there will be frustrating for many.
